124,000 families to be benefited from NHP: MNA

BAJAUR AGENCY, Nov 27 (APP): Member National Assembly (MNA) Pakistan
Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) from Bajaur Agency, Shahabuddin Khan has said the federal government was committed to ensure modern health services to
the people of tribal areas and efforts had been expedited for the purpose.
He said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the
Prime Minister’s National Health Programme (NHP) held in Ghakhi area of Salarzai tehisl.
People, including tribal elders, social activists and workers of
PML-N attended the ceremony in large number.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the federal
government was making all out efforts to ensure better health facilities
to the people of tribal areas.
He termed the PM’s National Health Programme a revolutionary
step of the federal government to provide free health care services
to the poor people in the agency, which according to him had been deprived of basic health facilities since their birth.
The scheme is a great step of the federal government to ensure free
health care services to those people of the agency who have no access to basic health facilities since long,” he added.
He said, over 124,000 poor families of the agency will be
benefited from the Prime Minister’s National Health Programme in
Bajaur Agency and it would be helpful to overcome the problems they
faced in getting of health care services.
Bajaur was the first tribal agency where the Prime
Minister’s Health Programme had been launched, he added.
Highlighting the salient features of the PM’s National Health Programme,
he said that under the programme, the people would get free of cast health services at both public and private hospitals without delay.
He said that the Rs 50,000 will provide to each card holder for
treatment of common illnesses while Rs 300,000 will be given for treatment for serious medical conditions.
According to him, limit can be extended to Rs 600,000 if funds run out
during treatment at hospital.
The MNA said that the scheme will not only ensure free of cast
health services to the poor people of area, but would also help eradicate various diseases from the agency and protect people from fatal diseases.
On the occasion, the MNA distributed Prime Minister’s National Health
Cards to more than five hundred people of various areas of Salarzai tehisl.
